Circle Time Resources

Circle time, otherwise known as mat time, is a regular activity in many early childhood education settings across Aotearoa. It's a time for kaiako and tamariki to come together to enjoy a variety of activities and an opportunity to share knowledge, build connection, support one another and to develop important skills, such as listening, taking turns, literacy and expressing one’s self.

SPCA’s circle time resources also help to foster greater empathy, compassion and understanding for animals, social and emotional competencies, a sense of belonging and offers the opportunity for tamariki to contribute to a shared learning environment.
