SPCA’s Resources for Early Learning are designed for early childhood kaiako looking for inspiring provocations to support and guide meaningful learning experiences with the purpose of advancing humane education, animal welfare and preventing animal cruelty, whilst all along being underpinned by the vision and concepts of Te Whāriki. Key values, such as, manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga, are woven throughout. These resources will support learners in fostering social-emotional skills, develop their understanding of positive wellbeing and support them, as young people, to see how they can make a positive difference in the lives of all living creatures, both human and non-human.

Although these resources are designed for early childhood teachers in Aotearoa and align with Te Whāriki, they are freely available for all; parents, caregivers, whānau, librarians etc. and can be downloaded, used and enjoyed by all.
